Eating, crawling, and being silly

There's a lot of neat things going on lately! Carly is eating SO WELL that she hasn't used her feeding tube since Thursday February 22nd!! We are SO PROUD of her! She still eats her yogurt smoothie, and she's also now eating a nutritional pudding. She gets enough calories that way to stay off the feeding tube!

Olivia is so full of personality. Here she is on Valentine's Day in her Valentine dress. She likes to put Bear in the push toy, and push him around. She also puts him the Johnny Jumper, in her booster seat, and then she tries to use Carly's syringe to tube-feed him. She's been watching mommy and daddy with Carly!

This is one of the few times we could get Olivia to slow down enough and smile for a picture. She's got such a cute smile! She's starting to say "Please" and "Thank you" really well, and she does it without being asked!

Carly likes her bath time. She sometimes takes a bath with Olivia. They have markers that they can play with to write on the wall of the bath tub.
Josh gets to wear a patch for the next month or so. He wears it for 3 hours a day, and we have to switch sides each day. Occassionally his eyes wander, and hopefully this will fix that. We go back in April to see how much longer he needs to wear it. He actually does very well with it!

He is also crawling! He's getting really fast and likes to follow you wherever you go.

Once again, the most beautiful children in the world!

Congrats on such huge leaps with Carly's eating.

Question, does Olivia use a fork or spoon to feed herself? We're not sure when Olivia should be able to use a spoon on her own. She does great if we help her scoop. She can get it from the bowl to her mouth...but getting it onto the spoon is something she just can't figure out!

Thanks for the sweet comments!

Olivia uses both but does much better with a spoon. We use those bowls that stick to the high chair tray. That helps a lot! The things she eats best with a spoon are yogurt, applesauce, chicken pot pie, mashed potatos, etc. Anything with that thick texture. She can eat items such as peas, but they don't all make it to her mouth. She isn't the neatest eater, but Carly's OT told me months ago to let her start. Our Pediatrican also told me to start it at 15 months so we did and she just gets better and better. If you don't have those "suction" bowls, they are great. Try those as well as those spoons with the grips on the handle. Good luck! She will get it!

Thanks,

I actaully let her do it again last night with her noodles, and she did great. I still have to help her scoop, but she's a pro at getting it into her mouth. She too is a messy eater. All clothes come off in the high chair and she goes straight to the bath from dinner!! Thanks for the advice!!!
