Can't catch a break...

Carly can't catch a break. She's back in the hospital with pneumonia (atypical, for what that's worth). We took her into the ER Saturday morning, and the doctors are saying that maybe she'll come home by Friday. She's receiving oxygen to help her breathe, and breathing treatments to loosen up some of the congestion in her lungs. As she gets better, her dependancy on it should decrease. She had a rough first couple of days. We brought her bouncy seat from home, and her "Elmo goes to the doctor" DVD, and she's feeling more comfortable now.

I left the room the other day, and was only gone a second. When I got back, she was waiting on me standing up in her crib.


She isn't very fond of the oxygen tube up her nose. Half of the time it's sideways, or all crammed up one nostril. She pulls on it, and gets mad when you try to fix it. She's also not fond of the breathing treatments. We try to give those to her when she's sleeping.







She has an oxygen monitor on her toe. She's had that every time she's ever been in the hospital. The light from it turns her toe bright reddish purple, like Rudolph's nose.

This is the first time we've really paid attention to what the oxygen monitor is telling us. The better she does here, the quicker she comes home. She likes to yank that off her toe pretty frequently. After all, what child wouldn't be attracted to a bright red light on their toe? The nurses are finding pretty creative ways to tape it to her foot.

Please keep praying for Carly, and for us, as we do double-duty at the hospital and at home. Olivia and Josh are being great for us during a stressful time.
